#TreatTheNHS

'Looking after those who look after us'

#TreatTheNHS is raising money to buy vouchers for NHS staff for hairdresser, barber and beautician appointments once lockdown has been lifted. This is a simple way to thank those who are looking after us during the Covid-19 outbreak. Together we can make a difference, show our gratitude and put a smile on someone’s face.

Read more about this project below and find out how you can make a difference simply by making a donation.

How It Works

#TreatTheNHS is a project to raise money to buy vouchers for NHS staff for hairdresser, barber and beautician appointments.

The money donated to #TreatTheNHS will be used to purchase vouchers from businesses that provide these services. The vouchers will be distributed to NHS staff who can use them to have a treatment such as a haircut or beauty appointment. Vouchers will initially be given to hospitals in Kent including Maidstone and Pembury and distributed to staff who work there. However, if this project receives enough support and funding, it will be used to benefit NHS staff throughout the UK.

NHS staff are working tirelessly to look after patients in the UK during this exceptionally challenging time and are risking their own lives to do so. This project will provide them with the opportunity, once the current lockdown has been lifted and businesses reopen, to have a well deserved 'treat' such as a haircut or beauty treatment. Self-care can improve an individual's well-being and this project encourages people to look to the future in a positive way.

The project will source these services from small businesses and this will help them to rebuild once they have reopened. Small businesses have been particularly hard hit as a result of Covid-19 and #TreatTheNHS will help attract clients, improve business and help them flourish following the crisis.

Let's all come together to make a difference and #TreatTheNHS.

About Me

Hello! My name is Laura. I graduated from the University of Bristol in the summer of 2019 with a BSc in Sociology. I recently returned home from travelling around Australia when my trip was cut short due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Since returning home, I have been thinking of ways to help during the Covid-19 pandemic and I have decided to launch #TreatTheNHS.  My idea is to offer NHS staff a thank you and something positive to look forward to. To get this project started, I am donating money that I had left over from my trip.

NHS staff work incredibly hard to provide the best possible care to all of its patients. The NHS is particularly important to me as my Granny worked as an NHS nurse.
